Liverpool vs Newcastle match preview
Liverpool have now won 3 of their last 4 league games as they look to salvage European football after a run of 6 defeats in 7 games looked to have potentially cost them. A win here would move Liverpool into 4th spot at least for the time being. Newcastle have had massive back to back wins against Burnley and West Ham and a win here would take them to 11 points above 18th placed Fulham which would surely mean they are safe for another season.
Newcastle have scored 7 goals in their last 3 league games and have conceded 8 goals in their last 4 league games. Liverpool have scored 7 goals in their last 4 league games and have conceded in 11 of their last 14 league games, conceding an average of 1.21 goals per game in those last 14 games. So goals look a good bet here. Over 1.5 goals looks highly likely and given Newcastle’s recent scoring form and the fact Liverpool have struggled defensively, both teams to score looks a good bet. The way Newcastle have played in recent games this could be a very open game, with Liverpool only having 1 way to play and their wing backs getting forward at every opportunity, Newcastle are sure to have counter attacking opportunities.
Newcastle only average 3.20 corners per game in their last 5 league games and Liverpool have taken just 2 corners in 2 of their last 4 league games, those 2 games were both away from home though and in their last 9 home games Liverpool have taken 7, 9, 5, 7, 6, 5, 12, 7, 8 corners. So rather than both teams to take 3+ corners we would look at 8/9+ match corners as part of a bet builder type bet, as there is a good chance Liverpool will do most if not all of the work themselves and just 1 or 2 Newcastle corners would be enough.
Liverpool have been given at least 1 card in 14 of their last 17 league games and they average 1
52 yellow cards per game in those games. Liverpool opponents have been given at least 1 card in all of the last 5 Liverpool league games and they were given an average of 2.40 yellow cards per game in those last 5 games.
Newcastle have been given at least 1 card in 11 of their last 14 league games and they were given an average of 1.64 yellow cards per game in those last 14 games. Also with how this game will play out I think it will suit cards. Newcastle have confidence right now and Liverpool have a pretty shocking record at Anfield in recent games given their standards. Liverpool need to win this to put the pressure on the other teams around them and with them attacking and leaving space in behind for counter attacks I think we could see a few cards for professional fouls and Newcastle are likely to pick up cards as most sides playing Liverpool do. Its highly likely both sides pick up at least 1 cads and the game has 30+ match booking points. I also thing at bigger odds 20+ booking points each team is not a bad bet.
The best bets in this game are

West Ham vs Chelsea match preview
Its 4th plays 5th with both sides level in 55 points and Chelsea above West Ham in goal difference only. West Ham are coming off a gutting defeat away at Newcastle where they were 2-0 down and had a man sent off for them to then battle back to 2-2 and then concede a winning goal just moments later. Chelsea are coming off a great week with them in the Champions League semi-final and FA-Cup final but a draw against Brighton in their last league game was a missed opportunity to move into a clear 4th spot rather than by just goal difference. A win for either side would be huge in their quest to play Champions League football next season. For West Ham especially this game is a real test. If they are serious about competing with the bug boys in Europe these are the type of games they need to win.
West Ham have scored in 8 of their last 9 league games and they scored an average of 2.11 goals per game in those last 9 league games. West Ham have conceded in all of their last 5 league games and they conceded an average of 2.20 goals per game in those last 5 league games. Chelsea have scored in 9 of their last 12 league games and they scored an average of 1.41 goals per game in those games. Chelsea have kept 9 clean sheets in their last 13 league games.
West Ham games lately have seen allot of goals and they look a good bet here. Over 1.5 goals is very strong with over 2.5 goals and both teams to score also looking good bets. Chelsea have a good defensive record but West Ham have been scoring allot of goals lately and surely won’t change their approach now.
West Ham average just 3.20 corners per game in their last 5 league games and they have taken 2 corners or less in 4 of their last 7 league games. Chelsea took no corners in their last league game but are one of the best teams in the league for corners and have taken 10 or more corners on their own in 5 of their last 17 league games. With that being said the West Ham stats are very low and any corners bet would seem to be dependent on Chelsea doing most of the work.
Chelsea have been given no cards in 7 of their last 12 league games and West Ham have been one of the lower teams in terms of booking points in the Premier League this season. Though West Ham have seen an increase in recent games and they average 2 yellow cards per game in their last 8 league games. West Ham opponents have been given at least 1 card in all of the last 11 West Ham league games and they were given an average of 1.81 yellow cards per game in those games. With what is riding in this game as well we feel cards is a good bet. When these sides play there is never usually too much in the line other than local bragging rights and pride, but if one of these sides can win this game it will be a huge step towards Champions League football next season. So It’s highly likely both sides pick up at least 1 card and the game has 30+ match booking points. At bigger odds it would be no surprise to see both teams pick up a couple of card each and both get 20+ booking points each as we feel it won’t take much to set this game off.

Over 2.5 goals

Sheffield United vs Brighton match preview
Sheffield United have had a terrible season and will be looking forward to it coming ti an and so they can start the rebuilding phase to get back into the Premier League. Brighton find themselves 7 points clear of 18th placed Fulham with a game in hand and a win here would ease any concerns of being dragged into a late season relegation dog fight.
Total goals is a market to avoid as Brighton only average 0.80 goals per game in their last 15 league games and Sheffield United have failed to score in 7 of their last 9 league games. Brighton have had some big results this season with wins against Spurs and Liverpool. The last 2 Brighton league games have finished 0-0 but we feel Brighton will look to get the win here as they won’t get many better opportunities to pick up 3 points than this. The best bet would likely be Brighton to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 as part of a group correct score bet.
Brighton have taken 3 or more corners in 93.75% of their league games this season and they average 6.76 corners per game in their last 13 league games. Sheffield United are less consistent but what we do notice from whir stats is that the games where they have a low corner count seems to always come against a big 6 team who dominate possession and territory. They are pretty consistent at taking at least 3 corners against the weaker sides in the league who they have opportunities to get at. Though if you don’t want to back 3+ corners each team then 8/9+ match corners is a good alternative as in current from their is a good chance Brighton will do most of the work and 1 or 2 Sheffield United corners would be enough.
Sheffield United have been given at least 1 card in 22 of their last 23 league games and in those 23 league games they average 2.13 yellow cards per game. Brighton have been given no cards in 6 of their last 11 league games and Brighton opponents only average 1 yellow card per game in the last 8 Brighton league games. However, Brighton opponents have been given 2 yellow cards in each if the last 3 Brighton league games so it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see Sheffield United pick up 20+ booking points
Whilst there are some potential bets in this game in corners and Sheffield United booking points, it doesn’t look a game to get heavily stuck into and there is no standout bet.
