Chelsea vs Brighton match preview
Chelsea are coming off their FA Cup Semi-Final win against Man City and have been in very good form in the league in recent games. Chelsea have scored in 9 of their last 11 league games and and they scored an average of 1.54 goals per game in those 11 games, winning 7 of them. Chelsea have kept 8 clean sheets in their last 12 league games but have now conceded 6 goals in their last 2 league games, but ots worth remembering that 5 of those goals they conceded came in that freak results against West Brom where they were down to 10 men for 3 quarters of the game.
Brighton failed to score against Everton in their last game but had scored in all 4 of their leaguebgames before that and they have scored an average of 1.40 goals per game in their last 5 league games. Brighton have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 13 league games but they have no conceded in 5 of their last 7 league games.
Goals and the result is a tricky market as the Fa-Cuo semi final win for Chelsea came off the back of reaching the Champions League semi-finals and surely those excursions would have taken something out of the players. Brighton have had over a week to rest and get ready for this game and they gave Chelsea a real game earlier in the season on the opening day when Chelsea won 3-1 eventually, but the game was allot more even than that scoreline suggests. The result is not a market we would get heavily stuck into as we do think it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see Brighton frustrate Chelsea. Goals is similar as we don’t know what Chelsea players have got let in the tank after the last week and how much will Tuchel rotate his squad. The fact is an FA-Cup semi-final and reaching a Champions League semi-final would have been the main focus for Chelsea with this game very much an after thought, and with them taking in a Brighton side who have played some very good football this season and have had over a week to rest and get ready for this game, we wouldn’t be taking a short price about Chelsea to get the job done.
Brighton average 7.08 corners per game in their last 12 league games and Chelsea average 7.17 corners per game in their last 17 league games. So needless to say that 3+ corners each looks an incredibly strong bet and you can take that line higher to 4/5+ corners each team or look at bets like 2+ corners each team in each half.
Chelsea have been given no cards in 4 of their last 5 league games and Brighton have been given no cards in 6 of their last 10 league games. So we wouldn’t back cards here.
The best bets in this game are
3+ corners each team
4/5+ corners each team
2+ corners each team in each half
